AI in Medical Practices - A new Portfolio in Advanced Training Courses with Malcolm Werchota. Led by: Malcolm Werchota, AI expert and former Global AI Evangelist at Novartis Participation: On-site or online; Location: MPA Vocational and Commercial School, Wiedenstr. 50A, 9470 Buchs Time: From January 2026 (exact dates tbd), 18:30 - 20:00 (1.5 hours) Content: Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming the healthcare system – including the daily practice of physicians and their staff. With the newly developed certificate course "AI in Medical Practice," the MPA Berufs- und Handelsschule Buchs will offer Switzerland's first structured continuing education program specifically tailored to the needs of medical practices starting in 2026. This free introductory lecture will introduce and present the new course program. Led by Malcolm Werchota, an internationally recognized AI specialist, the course provides practical insights into how AI technologies can support everyday operations in medical practices – from appointment scheduling and administrative relief to intelligent patient communication, transcription, and support in complex social security systems. Participants will learn which specific applications are already available today, how AI can be used securely and in compliance with data protection regulations, and where the opportunities and limitations lie. Using case studies, interactive exercises, and live demonstrations, they will learn how AI tools can be efficiently integrated and create real added value – for physicians, medical assistants, MPKs, and, above all, for patients. The course is aimed at general practitioners, medical practice assistants (MPAs), practice managers (MPK), and other healthcare professionals who want to prepare for the digital future. Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate from the EduQua-certified MPA Buchs Vocational and Commercial School, officially confirming their acquired skills. With this course, the MPA Buchs Vocational and Commercial School, together with Werchota.ai, is setting an innovative milestone and strengthening Switzerland's position as a pioneer in the responsible use of AI in healthcare.

Registration By submitting a written registration, you accept the terms and conditions of the school program applicable on the date of entry. Implementation of the Training Program If more applicants apply than can be accepted, admission will be determined by the time of receipt of the registration. In the event of an insufficient number of participants, the management reserves the right to decide on implementation. Contractual Conditions â—† The registration is considered a binding contract. It therefore contains all important areas to be agreed upon between the school and the student. Except for the timetable and school regulations, which are provided to the student as separate documents but form an integral part of the contract. â—† Written notice of termination is possible three months in advance, effective at the end of each semester. Without notice, the training program can only be discontinued if the promotion requirements are not met or for disciplinary reasons. Likewise, verbal withdrawals, especially withdrawals made to the school office or to teachers, will not be accepted. Payment Method Tuition fees are billed per semester, i.e., CHF 7,930 per semester. Monthly payments can be arranged for the school semesters, i.e., CHF 1,375 per month (24 months). No deductions are made for vacations, illness, or dispensation. Due to the school's commitment to performance and the associated school place reservation, the contractual tuition fees must be paid even if the student is absent from class or expelled for disciplinary reasons. There is no entitlement to a tuition fee reduction in the event of absence due to military service, illness, accident, etc. Failure to meet the payment deadline will result in a penalty of CHF 20 starting with the second reminder. If debt collection proceedings are initiated, a late payment interest of 5% and a processing fee of CHF 30 will be charged. In the event of non-compliance with the payment deadlines, the MPA Vocational and Commercial School reserves the right to withdraw from the contract. Multi-Year Training For multi-year training, the terms of this contract apply for the entire training period.
